Sauna Society

Finnish Sauna Society was founded on 1937. You can find information about the Society and its activities here.

The beating heart of Finnish Sauna Society – the Sauna house at Vaskiniemi – was built in 1952. There are a total of 3 smoke saunas, 3 wood burning regular saunas and one electricly heated sauna in Vaskiniemi. During summer period there’s an extra mobile sauna on our yard.

Sauna and Unesco

The sauna bathing to Unesco’s list project began when a group of Finnish sauna enthusiasts decided to propose sauna bathing for Unesco’s list of intangible cultural heritage.
